Meet the Founder
Vandana Sudhir
I grew up moving around a lot; across cities, countries and continents. It taught me early on that identity is not fixed. I do believe we each have our own essence, but, identity is a narrow, possessive version of that essence.
Essence is infinite. Over time we consciously or subconsciously collect labels until it starts to feel constricting and I believe many of the pathologies emerge from this fracture.
In reality, identity is messy and fluid; carved by our environment, relationships, events we happen to stumble across. When we outgrow versions of ourselves; it matters that we can loosen our grip and let go of what no longer serves us.
Seeing so many different cultures and societies up close slowly broke the spell of the rules we let govern our lives. I am still in the process of consciously unlearning these ideas like fixed timelines, how to be “valuable” in society’s eyes and the constant pressure to be productive. I realised how unsturdy these foundations are to stand upon and recognised the quiet strength and power that emerges through tuning inward than out.
That perspective continues to guide me as a therapist. I see each person as carrying their own story, their own lens through which they experience the world. Often, that lens is colored by past experiences; patterns that can keep us stuck or make us feel small. Therapy, to me, is about making space to see more, to feel more, and to reconnect with the parts of yourself that are resilient, wise, and capable of growth.
My approach combines evidence-based methods like CBT, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems with a simple philosophy: all resistance is the fear of feeling. When we allow ourselves to truly feel even the uncomfortable emotions become sensations we can work with, instead of truths that define us. From there, life opens up again.
I also steer clear of any rigid ‘one size fits all’ approach because I truly believe every individual in unique. That is why Im always exploring this space of holistic wellness and healing by trying to bridge together western psychology to eastern philosophy.
In our sessions, I dont take the stance of the all knowing expert. Instead I sit beside you nudging, guiding and walking alongside you as you find your way.
Professionally, I hold an MSc in Clinical Psychology from Erasmus University, a BSc in Psychology from the University of Western Australia, and am a NIP-registered psychologist. Alongside my private practice, I also teach Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where I help future therapists develop both their clinical skills and their ability to meet people with empathy.
At Clarity Heights Therapy, I work especially with expats and internationals — people who, like me, have lived between worlds and are navigating the complexities of belonging, transition, and identity.
How it works
Steps for Service
Starting therapy can feel like a big step — so I’ve made the process as simple and transparent as possible.
1. Schedule a Free Intake Call
Starts with a free 15-minute intake call. Opportunity for us to briefly connect, discuss what you’re looking for, and see if my approach is the right fit for you.
You can easily schedule this call online through my calendar.
2. First Session – Getting to Know You
First session will be a longer, in-depth conversation.
We’ll talk about your story, your current challenges, and your goals.
Together, we’ll begin to map out what you’d like to work on and what you hope to gain from therapy.
3. Ongoing Sessions – Building Clarity & Growth
Some sessions may feel practical and focused on tools;
others may be more reflective, exploring deeper patterns and emotions.
The pace and direction are guided by you.
4. Regular Check-Ins
Every few sessions, we’ll take a step back to reflect on how you’re feeling about the process and whether adjustments are needed.
This ensures that therapy remains meaningful and aligned with your goals.
5. Ending or Transitioning
Therapy can last a few sessions or continue longer, depending on your needs.
When you feel ready, we’ll plan an ending together or transition into a new focus if there are other areas you’d like to explore.
My aim is to make therapy a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, explore openly, and take concrete steps toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are.
